Brawl Stars Font Review for Marketers and Designers

I was designing a product teaser for a seasonal sale when I stumbled upon Brawl Stars—a display font that immediately caught my eye. The moment I applied it to a headline, the whole layout felt more dynamic, more alive. It wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about how the typeface could influence the way people perceived the message.

Brawl Stars is a dual-style display font with two modes: Bolt and Outline. Each brings a unique energy to the table. Bolt has a sharp, energetic feel, while Outline offers a cleaner, more structured look without losing the punch. Together, they give you flexibility depending on your campaign’s mood or message.

As a designer working across multiple platforms, I’ve tested this font in various scenarios. From Instagram posts to YouTube thumbnails, it performed consistently well. It has a visual style that leans into boldness, making it ideal for grabbing attention in fast-scrolling feeds or small previews. Its personality is edgy yet elegant, which makes it perfect for campaigns that want to stand out without being too over the top.

Using Brawl Stars in Social Media Graphics

In one of my recent projects, I used Brawl Stars for a series of Instagram posts promoting an online course launch. The font added a sense of urgency and excitement to the headlines, especially when paired with bright colors and high-contrast backgrounds. For example, using the Bolt mode on a “Limited Time Offer” banner made the text pop against a dark background, creating a strong first impression.

The Outline variant worked wonders on Pinterest pins where clarity was key. It allowed the text to remain readable even when overlaid on busy images. This is crucial because users often skim through content quickly, and the font helped ensure that the message wasn’t lost in the visuals.

Headlines, Callouts, and Brand Consistency

Brawl Stars shines brightest in short headlines, callouts, and logo-style text. It’s not meant for long paragraphs or dense information blocks. When I used it in a digital ad layout for a new product launch, the headline stood out instantly, guiding the viewer’s eye directly to the main message. It helped reinforce brand recognition by maintaining a consistent visual identity across all assets.

However, I did notice that using it in small text sizes on mobile screens could affect readability. So, I recommend keeping the font size large enough to maintain legibility, especially when placed on dark or light backgrounds. A quick test on different screen sizes showed that it works best when given enough space to breathe.

Font Pairing and Practical Tips

To balance the boldness of Brawl Stars, I paired it with a clean sans serif font like Montserrat for body text. This created a nice contrast and ensured that the overall design didn’t feel overwhelming. In another case, I used it alongside a modern serif font for a webinar banner, which gave the layout a professional yet creative edge.

Before finalizing any design, I always check what styles, alternates, ligatures, and weights are included. Brawl Stars comes with several options that allow for subtle variations in tone and emphasis. Also, confirming multilingual support and commercial licensing is essential if you plan to use it in ads, templates, or branded content.

For those looking to incorporate Brawl Stars into their workflow, I suggest starting with a few key campaign elements: a product teaser, a promotional email header, or a YouTube thumbnail. These are places where a strong, memorable font can make a real impact.

In summary, Brawl Stars is a versatile display font that adds energy and flair to any campaign. Whether you're crafting social media graphics, website banners, or email promotions, it brings a fresh, dynamic feel that aligns well with modern design trends. Just remember to use it strategically—where it can enhance, not overwhelm, your message.
